Wapsi Australian Opossum Fur

Combining a soft underfur with a ton of guard hairs, Wapsi's Australian Opossum Fur is an excellent natural dubbing for a ton of different patterns. These high-quality patches of fur have a range of natural colors from dark brown to cinnamon, and the fibers are super easy to work with whether you're dubbing some nymphs, tying streamer bodies, or whipping up scud imitations.

Australian Opossum is a natural material that can be used in many different ways. While it's typically used as a dubbing-whether worked into a blend or on its own-on nymphs, dry flies, and wet flies, Australian Opossum can also be used to tie small wings on streamers or create chunky bodies on streamers and even steelhead/salmon fly patterns.

Comparisons

Australian Opossum is a unique natural material, and realistically, there isn't another option that has the length, texture, and color that it has. However, if you really need a substitute, something like Hareline's Pine Squirrel Skin would work, but keep in mind, the fibers will be much shorter and a bit stiffer than Australian Opossum.
