Hareline UV Ice Dub

Hareline’s Ice Dub is one of our favorite dubbing materials, and with the addition of their UV Ice Dub, your flies stand out even more in the water. Taking their original Ice Dub and adding a UV element, UV Ice Dub displays UVF (ultraviolet fluorescence) and UVR (ultraviolet reflectance) wavelengths to help get the attention of the fish around you. Like regular Ice Dub, UV Ice Dub is made of finely shredded mylar and is packed with flash to add appeal to your patterns whether you’re tying up some streamers, shrimp patterns, or bright steelhead flies. Available in a ton of different colors, UV Ice Dub is a great choice for nearly any fishery you’re pursuing.

Uses

UV Ice Dub can be used anytime you want to dub a flashy body, thorax, or hotspot on your flies. From baitfish imitations to nymph patterns and all the way to saltwater crustaceans, this dubbing does it all. Also, UV Ice Dub is a great choice on its own, but it also works wonderfully whenever you want to blend your own dubbing and add some flash–we particularly like adding UV Ice Dub to Coyote Fur.

Comparisons

If you’re looking for a flashy dubbing that has no UV reflectance, then Hareline’s original Ice Dub is just the right choice. Ice Dub and UV Ice Dub are made from the same material, but the original doesn’t have the UV dying process, meaning it won’t reflect the same wavelengths as UV Ice Dub.
