Bishrat's Pole Dancer Fly

Created by Charlie Bisharat of Umpqua (nicknamed the “mad scientist” of fly tying), the Pole Dancer was designed for trophy striped bass fishing in California’s Delta. Its conically molded foam head creates an enticing side‑to‑side “walk‑the‑dog” action that triggers vicious surface strikes. Versatile across calm flats, fast estuaries, beaches, and in both saltwater and freshwater use—from stripers to peacock bass, snook, tarpon, and more—this pattern is effective virtually year‑round when predatory fish are focused on baitfish.
